Outhouse to the Dawghouse: From Appalachia to Athens and Back Again
Outhouse to the Dawghouse: From Appalachia to Athens and Back Again by John Huff with Dr. Kelly Huff
First edition paperback
"In a way that only a southern man could, while battling debilitating illness, Kelly told me from his recliner as if I may not have known: 'I think you're learning that there's more to life than football.' I agree. I think."
Internationally recognized professor and author Dr. Kelly Huff did not have running water until her was twelve years old. He was raised in the small town of Chickamauga, Georgia, where a textile mill was the largest employer during his childhood. Never deprived of love, but certainly originating from humble beginnings, Kelly graduated from college four times. From the mill town most known for its violent battle in the Civil War, Kelly became successful in radio and embarked on a nearly three-decade-long career at multiple highly respected academic institutions. With Kelly's assistance, his son, John, tells the stories of his father's journeys from the Appalachian Mountains to his accomplishments in academia.
